From Softball Diamonds to Golden Arches

Before she became a McDonald’s owner-operator, Toni Hower made her mark on the diamond. As a Division I athlete at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, she held down first base and thrived in the competitive world of collegiate softball.

Those years taught her lessons that continue to carry her today: how to perform under pressure, how to rally with teammates when momentum shifts, and how to keep composure when the game is on the line.

“Softball taught me how to stay calm when the pressure is on,” Hower said. “When things get tough, you don’t quit — you refocus, lean on your teammates, and keep pushing until you get through it.”

Now, instead of fielding grounders, she’s fielding the daily challenges of business ownership — opening a new McDonald’s in Adams Township, leading a team of employees, and raising her six-week-old daughter, Blake, with her husband, Colton.

Her role on the field prepared her for her role in business: steady, determined, and focused on the power of teamwork.
