Job Listing Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: October 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, submitting, purchasing, or responding to job listings published on The 228 Times website, you acknowledge and agree to these Job Listings Terms and Conditions.

These terms apply to employers, recruiters, businesses, job seekers, and all other users of the Job Listings section.

The 228 Times reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Changes will become effective when posted on the website. Continued use of the Job Listings section after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Purpose of the Job Listings Service

The 228 Times provides an online job listings service to help connect local employers with individuals seeking employment opportunities throughout the Route 228 corridor, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and surrounding communities.

The Job Listings section is an advertising platform only. The 228 Times is not an employment agency, staffing agency, recruiter, or party to any employment relationship established through an advertisement.

The 228 Times does not participate in employer hiring decisions, applicant screening, interviews, or employment negotiations.

3. Job Listing Fees

The cost to publish a job advertisement on The 228 Times is $40.00 per listing for 30 consecutive calendar days.

The following conditions apply:

– Each $40.00 payment covers one advertised job position.
– Full payment is required before publication.
– The 30-day advertising period begins on the date the listing is first published.
– Additional positions require separate listings and payments.
– Purchasing a listing does not guarantee immediate publication.
– All listings are subject to review and approval by The 228 Times.

The 228 Times reserves the right to modify its advertising rates for future purchases. Any changes will not affect listings already purchased and approved under the previous rate.

4. Secure Payment Processing

All job listing payments are securely processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processing provider.

The 228 Times does not collect or store credit card information. Credit card payments are handled through Stripe’s secure payment processing system and are subject to Stripe’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

The 228 Times may retain basic transaction information, including payment confirmation, transaction dates, payment amounts, and billing information, for administrative, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.

By submitting payment, employers authorize the one-time charge associated with their job listing purchase.

5. Listing Duration and Expiration

Each approved job listing will remain active for 30 consecutive calendar days beginning on its initial publication date, unless removed earlier in accordance with these terms.

At the end of the 30-day period:

– The job listing will expire and may be removed from public view.
– Employers wishing to continue advertising must purchase another 30-day listing for $40.00.
– Listings do not automatically renew.
– No additional charges will be made without the employer’s authorization.

Employers are responsible for notifying The 228 Times if a position has been filled before the listing expires.

Early removal of a listing does not qualify for a prorated refund.

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

All job listing purchases are subject to the following refund conditions:

– Before Publication: If The 228 Times rejects a paid listing before publication, the full $40.00 fee will be refunded to the original payment method.
– After Publication: Once a job listing has been published, payment is nonrefundable, except as required by applicable law or otherwise agreed to in writing by The 228 Times.
– Early Removal: Employers who request removal of a listing before the end of the 30-day period are not entitled to a partial or prorated refund.
– Unsuccessful Recruitment: Refunds will not be issued because a listing receives few or no applications, interviews, or hires.

Refunds approved by The 228 Times will be processed through the original payment method when available.

7. No Guarantee of Applications or Employment Results

The 228 Times does not guarantee that a job advertisement will generate applications, interviews, qualified candidates, or successful hires.

The $40.00 fee purchases advertising space on The 228 Times website for the specified 30-day period.

The 228 Times makes no guarantees regarding:

– The number of people who will view a listing.
– The number of applications an employer may receive.
– The qualifications or suitability of applicants.
– Whether a position will be filled.
– The overall effectiveness or results of a job advertisement.

Employers acknowledge that recruitment results depend on factors outside the control of The 228 Times.

8. Employer Responsibilities

Employers submitting job advertisements agree that:

– All submitted information is truthful, accurate, and current.
– The advertised position represents a legitimate employment opportunity.
– The person submitting the advertisement is authorized to act on behalf of the employer.
– Job descriptions, qualifications, compensation details, and application instructions are accurate.
– The listing complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
– The advertisement does not contain unlawful discriminatory, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading information.
– The employer will notify The 228 Times when the advertised position is filled or no longer available.

Employers are solely responsible for their hiring practices, employment decisions, and compliance with applicable employment laws.

9. Equal Employment Opportunity

The 228 Times supports equal employment opportunity and does not knowingly accept job advertisements that unlawfully discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Employers are responsible for ensuring that job advertisements and hiring practices comply with all applicable equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination laws.

The 228 Times reserves the right to reject or remove advertisements that appear to violate these requirements.

10. Listing Review, Approval, and Removal

All submitted job listings are subject to review and approval by The 228 Times.

The 228 Times reserves the right to reject, edit, request revisions to, suspend, or remove advertisements that:

– Contain inaccurate or misleading information.
– Promote fraudulent or illegal employment opportunities.
– Include inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful discriminatory content.
– Violate these Terms and Conditions.
– Contain suspicious links, spam, or potentially harmful material.
– Misrepresent the identity or authority of the advertiser.

The 228 Times may also remove expired listings or advertisements for positions that are no longer available.

Payment does not guarantee acceptance of an advertisement.

If a paid advertisement is rejected before publication, the listing fee will be refunded.

11. Listing Edits and Corrections

Employers may request reasonable corrections to their advertisements during the active 30-day listing period.

The 228 Times reserves the right to determine whether a requested change is a correction to an existing advertisement or constitutes a substantially new job listing.

Changes involving a different job position, employer, or substantially different employment opportunity may require a new $40.00 listing purchase.

Corrections or updates do not extend the original 30-day publication period.

12. Prohibited Job Listings

The following advertisements are not permitted:

– Fraudulent or nonexistent job opportunities.
– Employment involving illegal activities.
– Pyramid schemes or deceptive business opportunities.
– Listings requiring unlawful payments from applicants.
– Advertisements containing unlawful discriminatory language.
– Listings primarily intended to collect personal information without offering legitimate employment.
– Advertisements containing malicious links, spam, or deceptive application instructions.

The 228 Times reserves the right to reject or remove any advertisement it reasonably determines to be inappropriate, misleading, or harmful to its readers.

13. Job Seeker Responsibilities

Individuals responding to job advertisements are responsible for evaluating potential employers and employment opportunities.

Job seekers are encouraged to research employers and exercise caution before sharing sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, banking information, or financial records.

The 228 Times does not verify every employer or job opportunity and does not guarantee the accuracy, legitimacy, or availability of advertised positions.

Job seekers communicate with and apply to employers at their own risk.

The 228 Times is not responsible for hiring decisions, interviews, employment agreements, workplace conditions, or disputes between employers and applicants.

14. Third-Party Websites and Applications

Job advertisements may contain links to employer websites, online application systems, or other third-party services.

The 228 Times does not control these external websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy policies, or business practices.

Users should review the terms and privacy policies of third-party websites before submitting personal or financial information.

15. Privacy and Personal Information

The 228 Times respects the privacy of employers and job seekers.

Information submitted directly through The 228 Times website will be handled in accordance with the website’s applicable Privacy Policy.

Employers are responsible for protecting applicant information received through their hiring processes and for complying with applicable privacy and employment laws.

The 228 Times is not responsible for personal information voluntarily provided directly to employers or third-party application platforms.

The 228 Times does not collect or store credit card information. All job listing credit card payments are processed through Stripe.

16. No Employer Endorsement

Publication of a job advertisement on The 228 Times does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, certification, or guarantee of the employer or the employment opportunity.

The 228 Times does not independently verify every statement made in job advertisements.

Employers and job seekers are responsible for conducting their own evaluations before entering into employment arrangements.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The 228 Times, its owners, employees, representatives, and affiliates shall not be liable for damages, losses, claims, or disputes arising from:
